Setsubun and Oden

  • Fort Worth Japanese Society 3608 Park Lake Drive Fort Worth, TX, 76133 United States (map)

Come celebrate the Setsubun Festival and learn about oden and takigomi gohan.

Oden is a style of japanese hot pot typically consisting of several ingredients such as boiled eggs, daikon, konjac, and processed fishcakes stewed in a light, soy-flavored dashi broth.

Takigomi gohan is japanese mixed rice with seasonal ingredients.

Setsubun Festival, or the bean-throwing festival, celebrates the beginning of spring by ridding evil spirits that bring sickness and prevent good fortune.
