Dondoko Taiko

Dondoko Taiko

Taiko is the Japanese word for drum and refers to music played on traditional Japanese drums. Fort Worth Japanese Society Dondoko Taiko was formed with the support of sister group Yukyu Taiko in Nagaoka, Japan. This group meets weekly to practice and is open to members of all ages (no prior experience required). Dondoko Taiko performs throughout the Metroplex and Texas, and occasionally travel to Japan to perform in Nagaoka.

Come Practice With Us!

Dondoko Taiko practices on Sunday evenings at the Fort Worth Japanese Society. We divide our practice times into three separate groups so that everyone can feel comfortable in their Taiko experience. You may come for just one class, or stay for them all!

Taiko practices are open to anyone age 14 and up!

You do not need to bring Bachi (taiko drum sticks) to your first practice.

New students will enjoy a 1-month trial period and after that, classes are $20 per month (includes all three classes).
